The international conference on “Chess in Education” ended in Delhi, India, during which the chairman of Chess in Education Committee of FIDE, director of “Chess” Scientific Research Institute Smbat Lputian and the head of the scientific program Vahan Sargsyan shared with the successful Armenian experience.
The two-day conference was attended by many representatives of the chess world, including grandmasters.
Indian schools are seriously interested in chess, and they are making attempts to include chess in the list of compulsory curricula. That is why Smbat Lputian and Vahan Sargsyan presented the model of Armenia, where chess is a compulsory subject for grades II to IV. As one of the key elements of chess success in Armenian was mentioned the operation of our institute.
