Vice President of Armenian Chess Federation, Director of “Chess” Scientific Research Institute, Chairman of Chess and Sport Department of ASPU, Founder -director of Armenian Chess Academy Smbat Lputian was appointed Chairman of FIDE “Chess in Education” Commission.

In parallel to the World champion title tournament held in London, a meeting of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) Management Board was held, and a decision was made to appoint the First Deputy Chairman of Armenian Chess Federation Smbat Lputian Chairman of “Chess in Education” Commission. This decision of FIDE is justified by the success of Armenia in introducing chess at the educational system and by sharing experience of implemented activates with other countries.

The whole staff of the “Chess” Scientific Research Institute congratulates Mr. Lputian for this appointment.
